Built by Alan Keef in 1998 for the Wells Harbour Railway, it ran there until the railway closed in 2021. After a very brief sojourn in Cornwall it has run at Watford for the last few seasons.
Perkins diesel engine with Linde hydraulic pump/motor. Electronic direction control. Electric compressor, tank and control valve fitted for train brakes. Loco has a hand brake for parking.
Like all Keef equipment it is a rugged and easy to use piece of kit, well suited to daily commercial use.
Last overhauled back at Keefs in the winter of 2018/19 - work then included shimming the axleboxes, re-profiling the wheels, and fitting new crankpins and modifying the rods and flycranks to suit needle roller bearings.
