About Us

S.M.R. Engineering Services was formed in 2017 to run the workshop activities of Southern Miniature Railways (an established miniature railway operating company).

We can undertake most aspects of miniature railway engineering work – this has included building new engines and rolling stock, repairing restoring old engines and rolling stock, and sourcing and supplying everything required to build a railway.

Primarily we supply a range of parts, such as wheels and couplings, as off the shelf items which you can buy through this website. Many of our products are in regular use at the Watford Miniature Railway, one of the oldest and busiest park railways in the country, as well as at other well known railways around the country. All profits from parts we sell help support the continued operation of the railway.

We also sell a small quantity of second hand equipment, particularly in 10¼" gauge.

Our workshop is in Watford, Hertfordshire and we are able to ship most items throughout the UK. We can also send items internationally, please ask.
